Quality Engineer
39-Hr week - Monday - Friday - 0800-1630 - (0830-1530 Fridays)

Our client is looking for a Quality Engineer to join their team. IT IS ESSENTIAL TO HAVE A SOLID BACKGROUND IN A MACHINING / CNC ENVIRONMENT OR PRECISION MEHANICAL ENGINEERING. This is due to the company quality control measures.
In this role you will report to the Quality Manager and primarily liaise directly with the production team to provide support and guidance to process improvements.
Main Duties
Ensure procedures are updated and developed to achieve best practice
Ensuring that all customer specifications are met and maintained, that quality planning and process documentation is organised
While conducting internal data analysis, ensure that all internal NCRs are raised and documented - using various problem solving techniques to review and resolve these issues in a timely manner, escalating where necessary
Ensure that customer complaints are validated and that corrective actions are robust using common quality tools such as 8D and 5 whys
Administer applications for concessions, waivers and production permits
Identify, analyse and resolve or recommend effective solutions to a range of problems
Additional Duties
Understand the direct creation, controls, and input of data from drawings, standards, and specifications into the company MRP. This is for use in process control sheets, batch routing and FAIR's
Work on any other tasks undertaken by the Quality department as directed
Monitor quality KPIs and assist to construct a monthly report
Monitor suppliers performance and assist the buyer with approval ratings
Monitor and ensure the system audit schedules (Quality & Environmental) are maintained

Strong interpersonal, influential and organisational skills are essential
The ability to communicate, be comfortable speaking with a wide range of staff, customers, and suppliers in person and by telephone, in writing and in meetings
An understanding for the need to continually maintain confidentiality and discretion
Skills
Demonstrable experience with problem resolution and root cause analysis
Have hands on experience of reading and understanding technical drawings, symbols, revisions and specifications
Computer literate / confident with a willingness to learn new skills
Self-motivated, versatile and able to work without supervision in a multi-functional team environment
ENGINEERED METALLIC COMPONENTS (TURNED / MILLED) OR RELATED AEROSPACE BACKGROUND
Knowledge and experience of using precision measuring equipment
Meticulous approach to measurement, comparison with standards and monitoring of processes
Training will be be provided for the right candidate where applicable.
