Storm Recruitment is excited to partner with a fantastic client based in Swindon, Wiltshire, who is on the lookout for a dedicated and experienced **Health and Safety Officer**. This is perfect for someone who is passionate about promoting a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation. As a key member of the team, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of health and safety across the organisation.

In this hands-on position, you will be responsible for supporting the Health and Safety Manager in a variety of essential tasks such as conducting risk assessments, delivering health and safety training, facilitating toolbox talks, and carrying out site inspections.

You will be the go-to person for health and safety compliance, making sure our practices align with current laws and guidelines. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your skills and make a real impact within a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Health and Safety Manager with compliance and legislative requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop safe systems of work.
  • Facilitate health and safety training and toolbox talks for employees.
  • Carry out site inspections to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on health and safety matters.
  • Maintain accurate health and safety records and documentation.
  • Utilize your PC skills for report writing and data management.

Profile of a Successful Candidate:

  • Hold a relevant health and safety qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH).
  • Experience in a similar health and safety role, ideally within HR.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel between sites.
