Our client is looking for a Buyer to join their team, to monitor and maintain good stock levels and identify purchasing needs.
With a responsibility to buy the best quality equipment, goods and services at the most competitive prices to ensure the company operates in the most efficient manner.
Duties - Supply Chain & Purchasing
- Communicate with suppliers regarding lead times, costs, product information
- Manage and review supplier price lists
- Attend supplier meetings
- Monitor supplier performance
- Negotiate purchasing terms
- Maintain relationships with existing suppliers
Duties - Stock Management
- Create bills of materials
- Maintain product pricing and correct product information on the system
- Raise production orders / manage stock transfers and adjustments
- Forecast and maintain good stock levels of main product lines
- Create reports to manage low stock levels, slow/fast moving products, out of stock lines
- Set reasonable re-order levels
Duties - Internal Team Communication
- Support the management team in tendering processes
- Make the accounts team aware of any new suppliers and agreed terms
- Provide full advice on costings and availability to the team
- Communicate any price increases or product changes
- Share new product information with the sales and marketing team
- Taking messages and liaising with other team members from other departments
